A Student’s Struggle with Uncertainty

Windy Torralba, a 19-year-old from Cebu, Philippines, always excelled academically but struggled with one big question: What career path should she choose? Like many students, she went through phases of wanting to be a teacher, an engineer, and even an accountant—but nothing felt like the right fit.

“I actually don’t have any dream jobs. I remember when I was in elementary and high school, there were assignments where you had to write your dream job. I always put something different—teacher, engineering, accountancy. I didn’t really have a dream job until Senior High School.”

Her interest in psychology was strong, but her parents advised against it due to limited career opportunities in the Philippines. Feeling lost, she considered digital marketing—a field she saw as practical and in-demand, especially after the pandemic.

         The Challenges of Traditional Education

Before discovering eduCLaaS, Windy planned to attend a local university. However, the long commutes and heavy traffic in Cebu made the idea exhausting.

“Here in Cebu, it’s very traffic. You need to wake up early just to be stuck in traffic. School hours here are very early, and I live in the province. There are few universities near me, so traveling was a big concern.”

She knew that spending hours commuting would drain her energy, leaving little time for studies or personal growth. She needed a solution that would allow her to learn effectively without sacrificing her well-being.

Finding the Right Path with eduCLaaS

Windy first heard about eduCLaaS from a friend who was already enrolled. The idea of gaining real-world experience while studying online immediately caught her attention.

“When I heard that you can have experience while still studying—as early as your second year—I thought, ‘Count me in!’ The fact that I could stay at home while learning and working was perfect for me because I’m not the type to go out a lot.”

The program’s structure—flexible hours, hands-on projects, and mentorship—aligned perfectly with her needs. Unlike traditional universities, eduCLaaS offered:
