Bulacan, Philippines – 27 February 2026 — CLaaS2SaaS participated as an invited plenary speaker at the 6th International Research and Innovation Summit (IRIS) 2026, hosted by partner institution First City Providential College (FCPC). The summit convened learners, educators, researchers, institutional leaders, and industry professionals to explore research and innovation, with a focus on translating insights into practical academic and institutional applications.
As part of the summit’s plenary program, held under the theme “Multidisciplinary Approach for Global Progress and Advancing Sustainable Development Goals”, CLaaS2SaaS delivered a session on Adaptive Lifelong Learning Pathways, highlighting how institutions can use AI to support academic planning, personalize learner experiences, and improve decision-making. The session also emphasized continuous reskilling and more flexible learning opportunities, contributing to the advancement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) through more inclusive and accessible education pathways.

A Platform for Research and Institutional Innovation

The annual event hosted by First City Providential College serves as a platform for academic dialogue and institutional collaboration among educators, researchers, and industry practitioners. Through both in-person and online research presentations, plenary discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions, the summit reflects First City Providential College’s ongoing efforts to promote research-led innovation and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
According to the organizers from First City Providential College, “IRIS was created to provide a collaborative space where research insights can translate into meaningful academic and institutional innovation. By bringing together educators, researchers, and industry practitioners, the summit encourages institutions to explore adaptive and innovation-driven models of learning that strengthen both research impact and workforce relevance.”
Within this context, CLaaS2SaaS’ plenary contribution highlighted a shift in higher education toward connecting research with real-world applications, particularly in areas such as digital transformation and workforce readiness.

Advancing Adaptive Lifelong Learning

During the plenary session, CLaaS2SaaS’ Regional Lead for Asia, Mr. Metta Eu from Malaysia — the summit’s only international speaker — shared perspectives on how institutions can strengthen lifelong learning to support faculty development and improve learner outcomes. Opening his presentation with the global agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he highlighted the role of adaptive learning and industry–academia collaboration in enabling higher education institutions to contribute more effectively to quality education and workforce transformation.
He also addressed key challenges faced by higher education institutions in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era. As industries increasingly adopt AI, automation, and digital technologies, universities must ensure that their academic programs remain aligned with real-world demands. However, many institutions continue to face rigid curriculum structures, limited integration between academic learning and workplace practice, and growing demand for continuous upskilling among working professionals.
“As industries rapidly adopt AI and digital technologies, institutions must move beyond static program structures toward more flexible and responsive learning models. Adaptive Lifelong Learning Pathways enable universities to strengthen faculty capabilities, create personalized learner journeys, and align education more closely with real workforce needs while enabling continuous reskilling across a learner’s career,” explained Metta.
These approaches support more flexible program design and stronger integration of real-world learning experiences, helping institutions better address diverse learner needs and improve career readiness. They also reflect a broader shift toward continuous learning, enabling professionals to update their skills beyond traditional degree structures.
Beyond student learning pathways, the discussion further highlighted the importance of strengthening faculty capabilities, particularly in areas such as digital pedagogy, data-informed teaching, and applied learning methods that better support learners in technology-enabled environments. Institutions that adapt to this shift are better positioned to prepare learners for the demands of an AI-driven future.

Advancing Future-Ready Learning Ecosystems

Discussions at IRIS 2026 shaped through CLaaS2SaaS’ ongoing collaboration with First City Providential College (FCPC), underscored the growing importance of integrating flexible learning approaches, faculty development, and real-world applications to better align education with evolving workforce demands. As institutions navigate rapid technological change, these approaches are becoming central to strengthening learner outcomes and keeping academic relevance.
As higher education continues to evolve, institutions are expected to further advance models that support continuous learning and closer partnership with industry. Through its continued participation in IRIS, CLaaS2SaaS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting academic institutions and industry partners to support approaches that enable learners and educators to navigate the demands of an increasingly dynamic, technology-driven workforce.
